I’m a South African woman and although I’ve been living in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia for a total of 17 years, I knew very little about what was happening beyond the compound walls. Early last year I decided it was time for me to make more of an effort and get to know the people who had played host to me and my family for many years. The result is my podcast, Aswat: Voices of Arabia. A platform for the women of this region to share the stories of their lives, aspirations and achievements, at a time when restrictions on women have been easing. https://voicesofarabia.xyz/

Robyn Udemans is a South African woman who has been living in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia for 17 years. Knowing very little about life outside her compound’s walls, Robyn decided it was time to change that. The result is a podcast called Aswat: Voices of Arabia, which serves as a platform for the women of Saudi Arabia to share the stories of their lives, aspirations, and achievements at a time when restrictions on women have been easing.
