<itunes:subtitle>July 16, 2015 a gunman killed five servicemen at a Navy and Marine Corps reserve unit in Chattanooga Tennessee. I was a mile away at work and witnessed the city go on lockdown as 'active shooter situation' and 'no-fly zone' announcements appeared on the news. Although I didn't know those men, their lives and that incident impacted me in ways I couldn't have imagined. One year later, July 16, 2016 I met a Marine veteran of the Iraq war and our conversations and interactions over the next couple years would change the way I think. This episode is in honor of the men who lost their lives that virulent day, and it's also in honor of new friendships.
